主动式:主语 + interpret + 宾语(sth/sb) + as + 补语(名词/代词/动名词/形容词)
被动式:主语(sth/sb) + be interpreted + as + 补语
补语的作用是说明“被解读成的内容”,可以是名词、代词、动名词(表示具体事物/行为),或形容词(表示性质/状态)。以下是不同语境的示例:
Don’t interpret my silence as agreement.(别把我的沉默理解为同意。)
She interpreted his gift as a sign of affection.(她把他的礼物解读为爱意的表达。)
People often interpret sarcasm as rudeness if they don’t get the joke.(如果没听懂玩笑,人们常把讽刺当成无礼。)
Critics interpret the novel’s ending as a critique of consumerism.(评论家把小说的结局诠释为对消费主义的批判。)
The painter’s use of dark colors is often interpreted as a metaphor for grief.(画家对深色的使用常被解读为悲伤的隐喻。)
The researchers interpreted the survey results as evidence of rising anxiety.(研究者把调查结果解读为焦虑加剧的证据。)
In linguistics, a pause can be interpreted as a turn-taking signal.(在语言学中,停顿可被理解为转换说话者的信号。)
His speech was widely interpreted as a threat to the opposition.(他的演讲被广泛解读为对反对派的威胁。)
The ancient symbol has been interpreted as a representation of the sun.(这个古老符号一直被诠释为太阳的象征。)
1、 as后接成分的词性:
as后面需接名词性成分(名词、动名词)或形容词(表示被解读的“性质”),不能直接接动词原形。
✅ 正确:interpret his behavior as rudeness(把他的行为解读为无礼)/ interpret his behavior as rude(形容词,省略“a rude act”)
❌ 错误:interpret his behavior as be rude
2、 与类似短语的区别:
interpret as:侧重“解读隐含意义”(需分析、诠释),如解读沉默、诗歌、数据的深层含义;
regard as:侧重“看待、视为”(较直接的归类),如“regard him as a friend”(把他当作朋友);
consider as:侧重“认为、看作”(强调判断),如“consider the plan as feasible”(认为计划可行)。
