表示“有……的习惯”“习惯性地做……”，强调某人长期形成的、稳定的行为模式或状态。
主语 + be动词（am/is/are/was/were） + in the habit of + 动名词（doing） + 其他成分
注：of是介词，后面必须接名词或动名词（不能接动词原形）。
1、 主语：通常指“人”（偶尔可指某类人，如"people in this area"），因为“习惯”是人的行为模式。
2、 时态：
现在时（am/is/are）：描述当前的习惯（持续到现在）；
过去时（was/were）：描述过去的习惯（可能已改变或持续到过去）。
3、 否定形式：在be动词后加not，即"be not in the habit of doing sth."（没有做……的习惯）。

1、 be in the habit of vs. have the habit of
两者含义几乎相同，但"be in the habit of"更强调“状态”（处于某种习惯中），而"have the habit of"更强调“拥有”某习惯，口语中更常用"be in the habit of"。
例：He has the habit of biting his nails. = He is in the habit of biting his nails.（他有咬指甲的习惯。）
2、 be in the habit of vs. used to
"used to"强调“过去常常做某事（现在不做了）”；
"be in the habit of"可指“现在或过去的习惯”，不隐含“现在停止”。
例：
He used to smoke.（他过去抽烟，现在不抽了。）
He is in the habit of smoking.（他有抽烟的习惯，现在还在抽。）
